The Diploma in Journalism & Media Studies (DJMS) is a two-year program designed to
equip learners with essential journalism, communication, and media production skills
required in today’s fast-changing media environment. The program focuses on
developing confident communicators, ethical reporters, and versatile multimedia
storytellers who can work effectively across print, broadcast, and digital platforms. This
practical-oriented program responds to the growing demand for skilled media
practitioners in radio, television, newspapers, online newsrooms, public relations, and
corporate communication
This Diploma in Journalism & Media Studies aims to:
1 Provide learners with strong foundational knowledge in journalism and media
communication.
2 Equip students with strong writing, reporting, editing, and multimedia production skills.
3 Instill ethical conduct and understanding of media law and professional practice.
4 Prepare learners for modern media careers across print, broadcast, and digital
platforms
Graduates will be able to:

To be eligible for the DJMS program, you must meet one of the following criteria:
a) KCSE C- (minus) with C- in English/Kiswahili.
OR
b) KCSE D+ plus a one-year certificate in Journalism or related field.
OR
c) Equivalent qualification recognized by the institution.
